Most of us used to listen to many stories told by our grandmother
and mother, it is humorous, fairy tales and traditional songs that made our
childhood more meaningful and unforgettable. However, such kind of stories have
simple plot and easy to get the content. What about story with conflicts? Is it
interesting or complex? In my opinion, a good story is having conflicts that
attract people attention and carry precious message.
The first reason why story with conflicts become interesting is
making people curious and paying much attention to read it. More specifically,
the simple things become more boring than the complicated ones, therefore, the
readers prefer to story with conflicts. For examples, in “Tat Den” which is written by Ngo Tat To, a
Vietnamese famous writer, consists of a big number of thorny situations. Each
situation has its own specialty that hard to discover and make reader
brainstorming to understand. It is worth it and significant.
Secondly, meaningful
messages are usually hidden behind the conflicts. Normally, after dealing with
challenges, the main character becomes a good model to follow and readers get
lesson from it. The bitter conflicts are, the greater influence on readers is.
However, some people argued that stories with conflicts are
fictional and sophisticated, it does not suit for children at all. I think this
statement is just a small aspect that is not considerable. Because, what make a
story interesting always unusual and distinctive.
In conclusion, it is necessary to put conflicts into a story in
order to attract readers’ attention and curiosity. Especially, it satisfies the readers by
its characteristic that distinct it from the others.
