Viết thư để phàn nàn về một vấn đề nào đó thuộc vào loại thư trang trọng( formal letter) và cách viết của nó cũng khá phức tạp hơn các loại thư thông thường. Hôm nay mình sẽ chia sẻ cùng các bạn về cách viết thư phàn nàn bằng tiếng Anh, bố cục, các từ ngữ và đặc biệt là một bài mẫu.
1. Bố cục của một bức thư phàn nàn trong tiếng Anh ( letter of complaint's outline)
2. Ngôn ngữ( useful language)
- Các bạn hãy bắt đầu bức thư bằng các cụm từ dưới đây nhé:
I am writing to complain about ...
I am writing to express my disappointment with...
I am writing to express my annoyance with...
- Và nhớ dùng các câu dưới đây để kết thúc bức thư:
I hope this matter will be dealt with/ resolved as soon as possible.
I hope this matter will receive your immediate attention.
I will have no choice but to ...
3. Bài mẫu( letter of complaint sample)
Topic: you
recently hired a car for a part of your holiday. However, there were several
problems with the arrangements. Write a letter of complaint to the manager
explaining the problems and requesting compensation.
Dear Sir/ Madam,
I’m writing this letter
to express my disappointment about the service I received when I hired one of
your cars on 16th November.
Firstly, I am extremely
disappointed about delivery time that wasted 2 hours late. Actually, I ordered
a car at 7:00 A.M with the hope that I can get the campsite punctually,
however, I was given it at 9:00. It was too late so I have to accept this fault
and started my journey without arguing with your employees.
Another problem I had
experienced is the speedometer stopped working at half of journey. I cannot
imagine how dangerous it is, when I was on the high way, the speedometer showed
40 km/h, so I drove a little bit faster but it is still 40 km/h. I tried to
drive faster and faster, as a result, I was stopped by the police for
over-speed. Although I tried to blame for the car’s flaw, I have to pay $200
punishment. Finally, I have no choice but to leave the car at your CNA branch
and continued my journey using taxi.
This is the most terrible
journey that I have ever experienced. I feel that I was cheated by being given
an unreliable car that generates serious dangers to my safety. Therefore, I
want you to refund the amount of money that I had to pay for over speed as it
is not my fault. Besides, it will make me feel better and revealed if I receive
your apology for irresponsible acts.
You’d better give this
matter your urgent attention, or else I really will have to take legal action.
