Going to university is considered the shortest road to
success. However, there are still argument between studying abroad and studying
domestically, which one is more effective and beneficial to student future career.
Along with the benefits of studying locally, there are certain major advantages
of studying abroad to a large number of people.
On the one hand, those who support studying locally believe
that entering local university creates a bright future for students. Firstly,
studying domestically reduces a big amount of money due to affordable tuition
fees and living cost. Therefore, students can invest more in studying by
approaching extra materials and advanced aids. Besides, for many people whose
household income is unstable, money could be the main concern to make decision
related to study, thus, it reveals the scare of money significantly. Finally,
familiar language is extremely advantageous to domestic studying. More
specifically, there are fewer obstacles in communicating and comprehending
lectures by using national language instead of foreign languages. For these
reasons, people tend to support the idea of studying locally.
In contrast, the opposite argue that studying abroad is more
beneficial to students’ career. The primary merit is the employers seem to
highly appreciate student’s CV which has foreign certificates. It absolutely
attracts either internal or external companies that are seeking for potential
employees. Moreover, it is easier for abroad students to work for foreign
atmosphere with high salary. In southern of Viet Nam, for examples, there are
more and more external companies offer ideal positions for employees, who
graduate from oversea university, with
stable income and promotion as well. Moreover, it is undeniable that studying
abroad makes students mature and intellectual. In fact, living apart from home
creates a good condition in order to cope with social life, which has greatly
impacts on student’s personality that is self- reliance, independence, and
competition. Consequently, students
nourish a dream of being in foreign countries to approach new life.
In conclusion, as a student, I have high appreciation for
oversea study because of the reliable quality of education and life experiences
student gains. In fact, choosing a suitable road for future is depending on each individual condition, and both study locally and abroad always have their merits and drawbacks.
