khá phổ biến trong các kì thi các bạn ạ. Trước hết mình sẽ giải thích cho các bạn thế nào là for and against essay. For and against essay là một bài viết học thuật mà chủ đề topic của nó luôn có hai vấn đề đối lập nhau, các bạn phải trình bày hai vấn đề đó bình đẳng với nhau về cả độ dài cũng như các lập luận khách quan.
1. Cấu trúc (For and against essay structure)
- Phần mở bài luôn có câu chủ đề, lưu ý không trình bày quan điểm cá nhân ở đây.
Ví dụ:
Topic: Some people believe that studying abroad is the best way for student to prepare for their future career. Others think they should enter local universities to prepare for their future. Discuss both view and give your opinion.
Introductory paragraph:
Going to university is considered the shortest road to success. However, there are still argument between studying abroad and studying domestically, which one is more effective and beneficial to student future career. Along with the benefits of studying locally, there are certain major advantages of studying abroad to a large number of people.
- Phần thân bài: Nếu bạn đồng ý với một ý kiến nào thì hãy để phần đó sau, còn ý kiến còn lại sẽ được triển khai trước. Các đoạn sẽ bao gồm lời lẽ bào chữa, ví dụ hoặc lý do.
- Phần kết sẽ bắt đầu với 1 câu ý kiến của các bạn, nếu support cái nào thì nêu ra. Sau đó sẽ kết luận bằng một câu mang tính chất balanced cân bằng không thiên vị.
Ví dụ: In conclusion, as a student, I have high appreciation for oversea study because of the reliable quality of education and life experiences student gains. In fact, young generation now have strong preference for oversea study and outward thinking that seem necessary to catch up with the world’s trend.
